Why do you call it the School of Movement?
Good movement requires the mind and body to work together. This makes us stronger and safer. Modern lifestyles have caused the connection between the mind and body to get dull, we want to reawaken the connection.
Who can benefit from the Wings plan?
Everyone will benefit from good movement habits. Simple things like good breathing and posture are important for everyone. Less active people will see the benefits almost immediately. Among other benefits seniors can extend their independence. Younger adults will get more get up and go. Everyone will reduce injuries and falls.
How hard do you have to work?
We will offer three levels of work. The first level called Foundation is now available. Anyone can participate and many people will stay at that level.
You work at your own level. Only do what you can do.
The real value is not how hard you work but that you understand and apply basic skills and techniques to everyday life.
What equipment do I need at home?
To start many people, you will see significant benefits without any equipment. Any equipment you will need, like an exercise band, will be simple and inexpensive.
Do you have to get on the floor?
No. We do a few things in a chair, but to improve your movement you need to be standing controlling your body weight. start with short periods, only what you can do. Being consistent is most important. Look for small improvements, these will keep you motivated.
How do I pay?
You are automatically charged monthly on your credit or debit card. There are no contracts and you can cancel yourself.
Does insurance cover the plan?
You can pay with a medical credit card if permitted by your insurance. We are working to get covered in the same way health club memberships are covered by many insurance companies.
Can I cancel my subscription at anytime?
Yes, you can do that yourself by going to My Account.
I started playing pickleball will this program help?
It will definitely make you safer. One of our primary goals is to build strength in the core and mobility in the hips and shoulders. This is a requirement for all athletic activities and everyday movement.
I am in my 80's and have a hard time standing up from a chair. Will the program help?
Yes, you are a perfect candidate for the program. One of the most common movements of the body is up and down and it is important you do it right. Use your hips more and take stress off your knees. You may see some results almost immediately.
What is the most important things you get out of the Wings program?
In a word the most important thing would be confidence. When you start to feel more control and strength you become more comfortable and confident. This often motivates you do to even more.
What is the average age?
We have had people from their late 40's to early 90's. We have had people with Parkinsons and pre and post joint replacements.
